We’re proud that Builders Vision's Oceans strategy was featured in a recent case study by the TransCap Initiative (TCI)!

TCI sits at the intersection of real-economy systems change, sustainability, and finance. In this case study, TCI explores the principles of systemic investing through the lens of our oceans grantmaking and investment efforts. It highlights how our work to support a sustainable and resilient blue economy exemplifies the distinctive approach of systemic investing, offering valuable insights for other organizations across the capital spectrum looking to fund systems transformation.

According to TCI, systemic investing involves deploying financial capital to transform human and natural systems with the goal of advancing both environmental sustainability and social justice. While our work may not be a perfect example of systemic investing, it closely aligns with these principles and offers a bold, emergent approach to investment strategies — one we hope sparks new ideas and conversations.

At Builders Vision, we believe oceans hold immense potential to drive global environmental recovery, climate security, and economic prosperity. The TCI case study highlights our work across investments, grants, and strategic initiatives as a whole-sector approach to building a resilient blue economy. It also features insights from our partners at Katapult Ocean, the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance, and Coral Vita. TCI showcases some of our key efforts, such as supporting scalable technologies, advancing platforms for improved monitoring, and shifting consumer behavior—demonstrating how Builders Vision is accelerating these projects and how others in climate finance can get involved. These strategies are crucial to the agenda-setting, awareness-building, and crowding in new pools of capital needed to drive meaningful change.

A special thank you to the TCI and Builders Vision Oceans teams for their work on this case study, and to our partners for sharing how we're collaborating to bring this vision to life.
