Builders Vision is thrilled to share the completion of an incredible gathering we hosted in partnership with the World Economic Forum. Entitled Building for the Future, this retreat brought together a global community of family business owners, visionary leaders, passionate investors, and dedicated experts committed to driving positive change.

Throughout the event, we experienced inspiring discussions and powerful collaborations, including how business owners and family office leaders can responsibly and intentionally align their capital for impact and pursue systems investing to achieve lasting change.

Key Highlights:

  • Thought-Provoking Speakers: The retreat opened with a special conversation between Former U.S. President Barack Obama and the Honorable Valerie Jarrett (Obama Foundation), during which President Obama discussed his lifelong commitment to effecting positive change, including through the Obama Foundation in his post-Presidential years. We also heard conversations on collaborative platforms and strategies that can achieve meaningful change and expand opportunities for all communities. These included fireside chats featuring family business leaders who have integrated impact into their operations, an interactive workshop on values-driven leadership, and inspiring keynote presentations focused on inspiring action and collaboration.
  • Dynamic Breakout Sessions: Attendees participated in "The Impact Playbook" workshops, exploring strategies aimed at aligning business success with societal impact, such as mission-related investing, policy advocacy, and effective branding and communications. Day two featured "Catalyzing Action" workshops, offering sector-specific explorations into Oceans, Food & Agriculture, and Energy. These sessions featured insights from industry experts and innovative companies working to accelerate these sector transitions with scalable, sustainable solutions.
  • Building Community: We brought together a global community of family members from the World Economic Forum’s Family Business Community representing five continents. Our participants formed meaningful connections that will fuel future projects and collaborations. We can’t wait to see how these generative, critical dialogues continue to emerge.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all the speakers, attendees, and organizers for making this event a resounding success. Your passion and dedication will undoubtedly drive impact at a global scale. Let's continue to work together to build a more humane and healthy planet.
